Balkonda/Kamareddy: Vice-chairman of Mission Bhageeratha and Balkonda MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Monday laid foundations for several women’s buildings, VDC Bhawans, Rythu Sangham buildings, dhobi ghats, Anganwadi centre buildings, and a Madiga community hall in the constituency.

The TRS government had secured the Forest department clearance for the projects. Reddy said the works should have been completed in the last season itself, but got delayed because of various reasons. This aspect has been brought to his notice, the MLA stated.

Reddy said that 12 streams under the Vemuganti project would be filled in the next monsoon to provide irrigation facilities to 8,000 acres in Bangal, Pallikonda, Bodhanpalli, Bejjara, Puranpet and Pipri villages in Bheemgal mandal. The project, costing Rs.8 crore, has been taken up and officials have been asked to complete the works by the next monsoon.

In Kamareddy, Government Whip Gampa Govardhan said that water would be provided to the residents of 70 habitations in Machareddy and 27 habitations in Kamareddy by March 30 this year under the first phase of the Mission Bhageeratha by fixing taps to every house.

He told The Hans India that the pipeline works to all the villages in the habitations were going on at a brisk pace. Along with the pipelines, wiring for providing Internet connectivity was being done. So far, Govardhan disclosed, 9,000 taps have been secured.
The Government Whip said under the second phase of Mission Bhageeratha, water supply would be provided to Domakonda and Bhiknoor villages. Works would be first completed in the whole village before taking it up elsewhere, he added.
