Live arts workshop, fun games and a host of handmade trinkets crafted by children will feature at the upcoming ‘Tea Tree Carnival’.

In this regard, a curtain raiser was organised on Tuesday in which children displayed a few of the products.

The event, a CSR initiative by K Raheja Corp, will feature students from low income groups and will be held at Central Recreation Garden from 11am on Friday. Over 60,000 people working at Mindspace will attend the event, which is also open to public.

Speaking at the curtain raiser, Vishwas Dhumal, CSR Head, K Raheja Corp informed, “The carnival will showcase interactive stalls displaying the work of projects undertaken by students who have been enthusiastically creative about art and craft, which will be for sale.”

The initiative organised in association with Teach For India gives students a platform to showcase their talent and garner support from the corporate world.

“Apart from arts and crafts and accessories’ stalls, there is the ‘NutriKare’ stall that will sell chocolates made by these students. There will be stalls with decorative materials, stationary products and much more,” said Dhumal.

Elaborating on the initiative, he said, "The endeavour is been about empowering students from the poorer sections of society. While education is at the core and we are working towards doing away with inequality, a carnival like this opens doors to a new world for these students. We want to give the students a fun day.”

Apart from stalls, workshops and interactive sessions, students will perform dance, drama and other cultural activities.

Entertainment in the form of a tarot reader, a magician and more will also be seen at the carnival, to ensure the students and visitors have a wonderful time.
