Nizamabad: T-PCC secretary and Nizamabad Urban Congress Party in-charge Mahesh Kumar Goud lashed out at Nizamabad MP and Telangana Jagruti President K Kavitha for her disparaging remarks against Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, he said it was highly improper on the part of Kavitha to make cheap comments against Rahul and ridiculing him.

Goud was critical of the Nizamabad MP for giving unsolicited advice to Rahul Gandhi to change his name to Runali Gandhi.

Coming down heavily on Kavitha, he said that she was unnerved because Rahul Gandhi decided to pay a visit to the Osmania University to interact with students. Rahul’s visit has sent a chill down the spines of TRS leaders, he added.

The Telangana-PCC secretary said that Rahul Gandhi hailed from an illustrious family of the Gandhi-Nehru which made several sacrifices for the unity and integrity of the country and it was wrong to ridicule him.

He said that the TRS leaders including Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao cheated the Osmania University students who made several sacrifices for the formation of Telangana State.

Without the sacrifices of students, Telangana State would not have become a reality, he added.

Mahesh Kumar Goud said that the Congress Vice-President has every right to visit any place in Telangana State and wondered as to why the TRS leaders including Kavitha were objecting to his visit.

The students were very eagerly waiting for the visit of Rahul Gandhi to pour out their woes to him, he added. He advised the Nizamabad MP to speak decently.

Nizamabad City Congress President Keshavenu and district youth Congress president B Balaram were present on the occasion.
