Land, aid distribution to Dalits, women mark Ambedkar Jayanti

​Nalgonda: Stating that Telangana would not have become a reality had there not been Ambedkar, MP Gutha Sukendar Reddy attributed the success of Telangana movement to the Father of Indian Constitution and pointed out that the inclusion of Article 3 in the Constitution had facilitated the formation of smaller state.
On Friday, representatives of various political parties and organisations paid tributes to the great leader on the occasion of Ambedkar 126th birth anniversary. They garlanded the statue of Ambedkar near DEO office in Nalgonda on the day.
TSFDC Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, District Collector Gaurav Uppal, SP Prakash Reddy, DRO Kheemya Naik, RDO Venkatachary, District SC Development Officer Sarvotham Reddy, DSO Uday Kumar were among those who paid their respects to the great leader.
Speaking at a meeting organised on the occasion, Gutha said TRS government was taking utmost care for the welfare of SC, ST and BC communities, and listed out various welfare schemes such as residential schools in every assembly constituency, distribution of 3 acres of land to poor SCs, Kalyana Laxmi and allocation of thousands of crores of rupees in state budget taken up for the uplift of poor and downtrodden.
Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy garlanded the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar located at Marriguda bypass road in Nalgonda town. In Miryalaguda, under the leadership of MLA Bhakar Rao, a mega blood donation camp was organised.
On the day, officials distributed 218.37 acres to 80 eligible families in the district under 3 acres land scheme. Meanwhile, grand celebrations were also held in Suryapet and Bhongir districts. Collectors Surendra Mohan and Anita Ramachandran respectively garlanded the statue of Ambedkar and paid floral tributes.
As part of the programme, assets to eligible SCs and SHG groups were distributed. Seminars, processions, blood donations, fruits and free meals distributions marked the celebrations in Nalgonda, Suryapet and Bhongir districts.

In Kothagudem, MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao called upon the youth to follow the footsteps of Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar to succeed in life. He attended the Bhoomi Pooja ceremony for the construction of Ambedkar’s statue at Rudrampur village. Jalagam paid tributes and garlanded the Babasaheb’s statue. He inaugurated the digital library and watched the digital classes.
The MLA said taking poor students into consideration; the government would establish skill development centre worth of Rs 46 lakh at Pragathi Maidan. He said they would establish eight empowerment centres in Kothagudem and Palvancha.
Each centre would provide training to 500 students and urged the students to avail the facility. Meanwhile, Kothagudem Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu also paid tributes to the great leader.Add to Ambedkar story
In Khammam, leaders of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) paid rich floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar here at Sanjeevreddy Bhavan in Khammam on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, party senior leader and former Minister Sambani Chandrashekar said Ambedkar achieved big despite facing several odds and strived hard for the uplift of downtrodden.
Several Congress party leaders paid tributes to the great leader on the day. Meanwhile, CPI leaders also celebrated the 126th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar here at ZP Centre in Khammam. CPI’s Bagam Hemanth Rao alleged that political leaders were diverting crores of rupees allotted in the budget for Dalits.
“The dreams of Ambedkar will be fulfilled only when there is social and economical development of Dalits in the country,” he observed. Several CPI leaders paid tributes on the day.
