Nizamabad: TRS MP from Nizamabad K Kavitha on Thursday exuded confidence that the TRS would retain power in the ensuing 2019 general elections with the blessings of women in the State. She accused the ‘power hungry’ Opposition parties of getting envious of the developmental programmes being executed by the TRS and blaming the government for mileage.
Kavitha participated in developmental works at Nizamabad rural area and laid stone for works worth Rs 28 lakh for modernisation of Nizamsagar canals D 50 to D 63 at Gundaram village. Addressing a public meeting later, the MP accused the Congress and the Telugu Desam of resorting to misinformation campaign against the government.
She also lashed out at the Opposition leaders for their rhetoric against the government which was implementing several schemes for the cause and welfare of women. While men and women were happy and extending full support to the government for its monumental development programmes and welfare schemes, the Opposition, unable to digest development, was indulging in mudslinging, she fumed.
She observed that people were aware of the conspiracies of jealous Opposition leaders, who were creating hurdles in the path of development. The Opposition was misguiding people on the projects and moving courts with wrong information and making mockery of democracy, the TRS leader said.
She added besides several welfare schemes, the Chief Minister had come up with another novel scheme to help pregnant women to get Rs 12,000 assistance on child delivery along with KCR kits. Since the government was generously offering monetary help, womenfolk and poor families were a happy lot, she opined.
Kavitha also said she brought to the notice of the Chief Minister to offer any sort of monetary help in the name of women beneficiaries. She further added that marriage schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak were proving handy for poor families to perform marriages of their girls by taking financial assistance of Rs 75,116.
The Chief Minister was aware of women’s problems and introduced several programmes for their welfare including that of single woman pension from June 2, in addition to those being offered to widows, beedi workers, aged and others, she claimed.
It was the TRS government that was keeping every promise such as providing double bedroom facility free of cost to the poor to live in complete self-respect by bearing all expenditure, the MP added.
