Devotees rue over tardy pace of Yadadr temple works
The present status of works of Yadadri shrine and its premises raise several doubts over the completion of Rs 1,800 crore prestigious holy project by next March, by the time of Brahmotsavams.
Yadadri: The present status of works of Yadadri shrine and its premises raise several doubts over the completion of Rs 1,800 crore prestigious holy project by next March, by the time of Brahmotsavams.
Though the state government is keen on developing the shrine on the lines of Tirumala, the negligence of respective contractors is giving headache to the officials of Yadadri Temple Development Authority (YTDA) and to the devotees alike.
The deadline for the works, which were started 14 months ago, was set this Dasara. However, in the name of case study of hillock and for other unknown technical reasons, the deadline was pushed to next March.
The works are going on at a snail’s pace with only 40 per cent of works of retaining wall, rajagopurams and others being done. Further, the YTDA is yet to finalise the consultancy for erecting Yadadri Kshetra Palaka Lord Hanuman statue of about 108 feet.
Meanwhile, the devotees, who are having darshan at Balayalayam, are expressing displeasure over the tardy pace of works. Ragavaiah, a senior citizen from Hyderabad and a regular visitor of the temple, demanded the government to pay special attention towards completion of works at least by March.
Meanwhile, Temple Executive Officer Geetha Reddy, speaking to The Hans India, informed that 80 per cent of civil works of main temple were completed and remaining works would be wrapped by September end.
Informing that infrastructural works and electrical works were going on at a brisk pace on the hillock, she said as many as 500 sculptors were engaged to complete the statue and carving works.
“We have submitted a report to the government to finalise the consultancy firm with regard to 108 feet Lord Hanuman statue, to be made at a cost of Rs 50 crore,” Reddy added, exuding confidence that temple works would be completed in the stipulated time, that is by Brahmotsavams.
