There are hundred types of cancers which may affect any part of the body. There are also many sub-types among them. Cancer is nothing but disturbance in coordination and balance, and enormous growth of new cells. Though exact reason is not known, it can be viewed that smoking, bad habits, some kind of viruses, chemicals are some of the reasons for cancer. That is why some people in some kinds of trades are vulnerable to certain kinds of cancers.

In the two kinds of rumors, benign tumors are harmless and malignant tumors are harmful. Benign tumors cannot penetrate into other parts of the body and cluster of cells around. These can be completely removed with a minor surgery. The harmful tumors enter into cells and other parts of the body through lymph flow and are capable of forming new tumors there. Any tumor in brain is dangerous because, the brain is covered with skull and hence, despite its harmless nature, there is possibility of other problems. Although cancer appears as normal problem initially, the symptoms of cough, headache, nausea, vomiting, unhealed sore, fatigue, decreased appetite, loss of weight, fever etc will aggravate as cancer becomes severe.

For instance, Carcinoma appears on skin and on internal layer of the internal parts or external layers. Sarcoma affects bones, fat, cartilage, blood veins or cluster of cells of those parts. Lymphoma affects lymph glands that are concerned with general immunity system. Leukemia affects blood cells found in cartilage. Cancer treatments are tough. Even after treatments follow up care with different specialists is of paramount importance.

The cancer of the visible parts is examined through physical examination and to confirm tests like X-Ray, ultrasound scan, C.T scan, nuclear scan, MRI scan, PET scan, Biopsy, Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC ), Blood Markers (AFP,CA 125,CEA, DR-70) needed to be undertaken. Besides, since cancers generally are of recurring nature, the follow up care is normally taken up for the first five years after the treatments. If the cancers do not recur in first five years it can be treated as fully cured. Still, there are cases where it recurred in certain people even after 10 or 20 years.
