The employees of Accentia Oak Technologies stood in unison at the labour court as they were waiting for the management to come down and settle things amicably in a joint meeting called by the Office of The Joint Commissioner of Labour at the RTC cross roads on Tuesday.

According to the employees, they are fully geared up to denounce the management in every possible way. Twice they missed the opportunity of reprimanding the management because both the times they failed to turn up and they had to leave empty handed.
“The Joint Commissioner of Labour gave us an assurance that an order can be passed based on the merits of the case with compensation recovery if the management ignores to turn up on August 13. So we all gathered here for a fair deal,” said one of the employees present at the labour office.

The employees have not been paid since December 2012 and they had lodged a complaint at the labour office. They had also submitted a written complaint to the Punjagutta Police Station in July against the company on grounds of duping over a lakh rupees by evading salaries. To their astonishment, they got termination letters instead of receiving the outstanding amount. “The company boasted of bringing overseas projects and asked us to lend a hand during the predicament and now they are issuing us letters of termination and are absconding,” lamented a baffled employee of the troubled medical transcription unit located at Babukhan Mall in Punjagutta.

CK Sooraj, Director, HR, Accentia Oak Technologies earlier missed the joint meeting citing a medical excuse. The Office of the Joint Commissioner of Labour had given prior information to the company’s top brass which is headquarted at Thiruvanthapuram, about the joint meeting.
