In order to expedite the road repair works and shifting of utility along the Metro Rail corridor, Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd., MD NVS Reddy took up a special inspection along with engineers of Road & Building department on Wednesday. The inspection was taken up along the road stretch between St.Ann’s school, Secunderabad and Uppal Jn.

In this connection, a fund of Rs.2 crore was released to R&B department which owns the inner ring road and advised R&B engineers to immediately complete the following works:


R&B to complete road restoration works opposite St.Ann’s school, St.John’s Church/ISKCON Jn and Sangeet Jn in the next one week. Asking L&TMRHL to complete water pipeline and electrical poles shifting in the next four days. To fill up potholes from Sangeet Jn to Oliphenta Jn. GHMC to take up road improvement of Rathifile Jn and Chilakalguda Jn with HMR funds. Water supply pipeline shifting and underground cabling work between Mettuguda Jn., and Alugadda Bavi Jn to be completed in the next 10 days by L&TMRHL with the permission of SC Railway.

SC Railway to immediately permit completion of these utility shifting works for which Rs.1 crore is paid by HMR to SC Railway as way leave fee. R&B to complete the road restoration work and blacktop it in the next two days. Patch work in bad stretches from Mettuguda to Uppal Jn and pot hole filling to be completed by R&B in the next three days. Water stagnation problem on the road near Habshiguda Jn to be tackled immediately by raising the road level and giving proper slope (camber) by R&B in coordination with GHMC. Blacktopping to be completed tonight, if there is no rain. Permanent measures to tackle water stagnation in Habshiguda area to be initiated by R&B in consultation with GHMC by constructing proper storm water drains.

Dug up soil stacked adjacent to Tarnaka flyover to be removed by the contractors of GHMC & L&TMRHL immediately and road cuttings to be restored with proper blacktopping by L&TMRHL. Traffic Police and HMR Police to take tough measures and prevent illegal parking of vehicles on the carriage way in front of hotels and shops in Habshiguda and Tarnaka.
