A baby was found abandoned in a dustbin in Vasavi Nagar in Secunderabad just hours after it was born on Thursday. It is said that unidentified people dumped the newborn and fled. The locals noticed a few pigs and stray dogs rummaging through the dustbin and tugging at the body. They chased away the animals and saved the baby. It is assumed that the baby was abandoned because it was a girl.
The locals said that the baby would have been attacked by the stray dogs had they not noticed it on time. They immediately informed the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and the police. According to Kharkhana police, the newborn was admitted to Niloufer Hospital who sustained bite injuries. The baby is recuperating from its injuries and is stable now, confirmed the police.
