Deepam scheme gets its due

Deepam Scheme Gets Its Due. The Deepam Scheme that was launched by the Andhra Pradesh Government in June 1999 especially for the ladies, has helped a number of poor households.

Deepam scheme addressees finally get their due. A meeting was held at the Chanchalguda Community Hall on Friday where free gas cylinders were distributed to the ladies of both Hindu and Muslim communities by Amzad Ullah Khan Khalid, Corporator (Azam Pura) of MBT.
He said that the place demands around 5000 gas cylinders but the supply is extremely less. This is the second phase of distribution and out of 150 applications, 130 were sanctioned. He requests the government to increase the supply and sanction at least 500 cylinders per term.
The Deepam Scheme that was launched by the Andhra Pradesh Government in June 1999 especially for the ladies, has helped a number of poor households.
Last year around the same time, the state government had decided to increase the subsidy from six to nine gas cylinders in a year to the beneficiaries of the Deepam Scheme.
“I am personally working towards the implementation of the scheme, so that there should not be any room for corruption at the distribution and the entire process would be monitored keenly.
The officials are asked to follow the norms carefully during the distribution and make sure everyone gets benefitted at the right cost”, says the corporator.
He also addressed the people and asked them to apply for Aadhar cards and ration cards if they do not possess one, and ask for any help needed to acquire them. The scheme pertains only to ladies of the families and those who hold a white ration card.
