From abstract paintings, landscapes to sketches; the exhibition consisting of 40 paintings of 16 artists curated by Maredu Ramu at State Art Gallery has a lot to offer.
Using earthy colours to capture the countryside, Lord Shiva sitting with a gait overlooking the mighty Himalayas, a portrait of a sage with a flowing beard, blades of grass topped with pink flowers that are about to wither away and conical shaped patterns that embed within themselves a greater meaning that the whole life is ensconced within - These are just a few paintings etched by city-based artists that are on display at the State Art Gallery.
Titled ‘Season Elements- Expressions of colourful thoughts’ the exhibition is indeed a kaleidoscope. Oil paintings, acrylic, drawings, the use of knife in certain paintings and a few abstracts add to the variety.

Maredu Ramu says, “There is a good mix. We have some artists who have been in the field for over a decade but we also have a few who are making their debut.” Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, Director, State Gallery of Arts said, “It is our endeavour to create a platform for artists.”
The themes that artists chose too have been varied. If B Rajitha chose to show the angst and travails of life in a city, Vittal Muppidy finds solace in the countryside, capturing the horizon. Poorna Chandra Prasad delves into the Shiva Linga that resembles many concepts and symbolises the union of mind and body. In his words, ‘This manifests in everything that we see in the world.”
