Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC has informed that the corporation demolished 24 out of 93 identified structures for road widening at Road No 13, Banjara Hills on Thursday. The stretch is a connecting road between Banjara Hills Road No 1 & 12 and the proposed road will be extended to 60 feet.
He also said that 20 structures have been acquired through land acquisition and the other four properties were negotiated for building permission. The remaining structures would also be acquired under land acquisition and demolitions would be taken up in a phased manner.
D Ronald Rose, IAS, Additional Commissioner (Planning) personally monitored the demolition programme and Suryakala, land acquisition officer; Khaleed Sarwar, city planner, central zone; Venkata Ramana, executive engineer projects and other senior officials participated in the road widening demolitions.
