Traffic regulations for Muharram procession

The sermons by zakirs (Shia clerics), describing the events of Karbala, amid cries and beating of chests by mourners would create a pall of gloom in Darulshifa, Noor Khan Bazar, Purani Haveli and the surrounding localities in Hyderabad. Addressing majalis (congregations of mourners) at ashoorkhanas, the zakirs, with their exceptional oratory skills, would give a detailed account of the events that led to the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his family.
Traffic restrictions
City Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy imposed traffic restrictions for the annual Bibi-ka-Alam procession today from 11 am to 9 pm.
Traffic will not be allowed to proceed towards Bibi ka Alawa and will be diverted at Sunargalli T Junction towards Dabeerpura Darwaza and Yakutpura Nala. Traffic will not be allowed to proceed towards Shaik Faiz Kaman and will be diverted at Jabbar Hotel towards Dabeerpura Darwaza and Chanchalguda. Traffic coming from Yakuthpura Railway station will not be allowed to proceed towards Shaik Faiz Kaman and will be diverted at Bada Bazaar T Junction, through Rein Bazar and Talab Katta and the traffic coming from Purani Haveli (Durre Shehwar Hospital) will not be allowed to proceed towards route of the procession i.e. Etebar Chowk and will be diverted at Purani Haveli X Road through Peeligate and S J Rotary.
When procession reaches Ethebar Chowk, the traffic coming from Mitti ka Sher will not be allowed to proceed towards Etebar Chowk and will be diverted at Gulzar House through Madina X Road and Charminar. Vehicular traffic coming from Moghalpura Water tank will not be allowed to proceed towards the route of the procession Chowk Maidan Khan and will be diverted at Hafez Danka Mosque, either towards Paris Cafe or Bibi Bazar.
When procession reaches Alijah Kotla, traffic coming from Himmatpura X Road will not be allowed to proceed towards route of the procession i.e. Charminar and will be diverted at Punchmohalla, either towards Moghalpura Fire Station and Chowmohalla Palace; The traffic coming from Puranapool will not be allowed to proceed towards Charminar and will be diverted at Motigalli, either towards Mitti ka Sher and Chowmohalla Palace (Khilwath); The traffic coming from Shakkerkote will not be allowed to proceed towards Gulzar House and will be diverted at Mitti Ka Sher, either towards Ghansi Bazar and Chelapura.
When procession reaches Alijah Kotla, the traffic coming from Nayapool will not be allowed to proceed towards Charminar and will be diverted at Madina X Road, towards City College. When procession reaches Miralam Mandi, the traffic coming from Chaderghat Rotary, Noorkhan Bazar, Salarjung Museum and Shivaji Bridge will not be allowed to Purani Haveli and will be diverted at Salarjung Rotary, towards Nayapool. When procession reaches Alawa Sartouq, the traffic coming from Chaderghat Rotary will not be allowed to proceed towards Kali Khabar and will be diverted at Shanti Lodge, towards Chaderghat Bridge.
The traffic coming from Gowliguda will not be allowed towards Aza Khana Zohra via Salar Jung Bridge and will be diverted towards Afzal Gunj from Gowliguda side of Salar Jung Bridge. The APSRTC district buses will be diverted to Gowliguda and Rang Mahal Road for entry and exit from 10 am to 9 pm. They should not come on the Kalikabar Road till the procession terminates.
Traffic restrictions in Secunderabad from 4 pm to 8.30 pm
All vehicular traffic proceeding from Hyderabad via Tank Bund towards Karbala Maidan will be diverted at Children’s Park towards Kavadiguda, Bible House and RP Road. Traffic from RP Road towards Karbala Maidan will be diverted at the Traffic Island near Traffic PS, Begumpet, Secunderabad (Bible House) via Tank Bund Road and will join the Tank Bund Road at DBR Mills T Junction and Mahatma Gandhi Road between the Central Telegraph Island and Ranigunj will be made one way towards Ranigunj side. Traffic will be diverted at Ranigunj Junction towards Minister Road, depending upon the situation.
