Cyberabad police have made elaborate arrangements for the upcoming One Day International (ODI) day and night cricket match between India and Sri Lanka, which will be held at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, on Sunday. With Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao attending the opening ceremony of the match, the police are leaving no stone unturned in the arrangements.
Commissioner CV Anand said, “Adequate and elaborate arrangements are being made in coordination with different wings like security, traffic, law and order, armed forces, SB, CCS staff. About 1,500 personnel are deployed for bandobusth.”
“A total of 56 CCTV cameras are being installed at vehicle check points and other areas, and a control room is also established. Quick Response Teams (QRTs) and OCTOPUS arranged separately to meet with the exigency. Anti-sabotage checks with the help of 10 BD teams would continue round the clock until the match completed. Separate teams are being deployed for checking the movements of antisocial elements,” he added
Guidelines for spectators
Spectators are not allowed to carry unwanted articles such as bags, banners, cell phones, cameras, binoculars, match boxes, lights, helmets, perfumes, carriages, water bottles into the stadium. In view of the ongoing Metro Rail works, spectators are not being allowed to park any vehicles on either sides of the main road from Genpact to Uppal ring road.
The spectators, who possess tickets for entry into outer Gate No 2, 3 and 11, should enter from Ramanthapur road (towards stadium) and park their vehicles in a single line on either side of the road stretching from Ramanthapur main road (HP petrol bunk) to KV-I. Physically challenged spectators are suggested to enter from Ramanthapur road and can enter into the stadium through gate No 3 (service entry) after parking their vehicles at parking place - B.
Spectators holding passes for entry through Gate No 4 to 9 should enter the stadium from Habsiguda-Uppal main road (via Ek-Minar) and park their vehicles at Penguin Ground General Parking Place.
Spectators holding complementary passes of corporate boxes along with car passes, and having access through Gate 1and 2, should enter from Ramanthapur road (LG Godown) and park their vehicles at parking place A and B respectively.
Heavy goods vehicles which would come from LB Nagar and Warangal routes would not be allowed towards Habsiguda and will be diverted at Uppal X road to pass through Chengicherla X roads (Warangal route) to reach Mallapur bridge. (The above restrictions will be in force on the match day) Heavy goods vehicles coming from ECIL, Kushaiguda, Cherlapally towards Uppal X road are being diverted via Mallapur Bridge, Chengicherla X (Warangal route) and LB Nagar junctions. The above restrictions will be in force on the cricket match days.
