Peeved APSEB engineers’ association complain against TS government for issuing relieving orders
Hyderabad: The ongoing tussle over the division of employees between Telangana and AP governments reached Raj Bhavan on Monday as the AP State Electricity Board (APSEB) Engineers Association on Monday complained to Governor ESL Narasimhan against Telangana government for issuing relieving orders to the employees of Telangana power utilities with AP nativity in ‘haste .’
A delegation led by the association president A Ravindra Kumar met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum seeking his intervention in resolving the contentious issue. The delegation informed Governor that the T government issued relieving orders to as many as 1400 employees including 522 from TSGenco, 262 ( TSTransco) , 321 ( TSSPDCL) , and 168 from TSNPDCL, besides the employees who had been provisionally transferred to APSPDCL along with transfer of Anantapur and Kurnool.
Even the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad stayed the orders and asked the T government maintain status quo two days ago, the association leaders said and, added that the government was not allowing the employees to work in the work stations in power utilities and also at power generation stations.
The transfer of the employees on the basis of nativity was against the spirit of article 371 (D) which laid special provisions giving equal opportunities in education and employment to other region people in Hyderabad in united Andhra Pradesh. The association leaders brought to the notice of Governor that the Telangana government, instead of obeying the court orders, instructed the employees to leave the work places as they would not get salaries from this month from T state exchequer.
The association also questioned the T government’s decision to relieve the employees when the process for the division of employees between two states was at preliminary stage only. The association leaders said that Governor responded positively to the issue and assured that he would hold a meeting with the officials of Energy department and sort out the issue at the earliest.
