The mega competitive exam fair 2015 jointly organised by the Hans India and HMTV and powered by CMS for CA, evoked overwhelming response from government jobs aspirants here on Saturday. While coaching centres got to present their skills, the candidates had an opportunity to clarify their doubts on the competitive exams like Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Banking Sectors, Groups and UPSC during the two-day event.

While coaching centres got to present their skills, the candidates had an opportunity to clarify their doubts on the competitive exams like Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Banking Sectors, Groups and UPSC during the two-day event.


Delivering a lecture on the ideal preparation for General Studies segment for competitive exams, former MLC and Editor of The Hans India, Prof. K Nageshwar said that the general studies component in Civil Services had been increased substantially. He said that reading newspapers is a good habit as it would give an understanding of the subject. “Competitive exams are becoming increasingly dynamic.


Rote learning method will not help in cracking any competitive examination,” he opined “The trend and orientation today is to ensure that state level public service commission examinations will also be in tune with the UPSC which is evidenced by the latter’s insistence that all State Commission bring in uniformity,” he added.


He advised against that information would be useful only there was a follow-up analysis. Broader intellectual ability and analytical skills will help in cracking examinations,” he spelt as the magical mantra.He said competitive examinations need continuous updating and required multidisciplinary approach.


Nageshwar further said the media organization will conduct more such exhibition-cum-workshops and interactive training camps in the future. “We want to give value added services through the fairs so that candidates get benefited and coaching centres can reach to maximum candidates. Unlike the contemporary media houses, we want to re-define the very concept of such fairs.”


Hyderabad Study Circle Director, K Krishna Reddy opined that ‘in the present fast-paced life one cannot depend on government jobs alone.’ Indian Academy for Competitive Exams, Director, N Vinay Kumar Reddy highlighted the advantages of government jobs. The Group’s Executive Director, K Hanumanta Rao advised the candidates to go through Hans Classroom and General Studies in the Young Hans pullout to stay updated about current affairs and other exam-related subjects. GS IAS Study Circle, Director, G Sabina Jayadheer, also spoke on the occasion.
