It felt great when a group of differently-abled was occupied in an activity for which they had come down to Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor BR stadium from all over India. The scene was poignant on the face of it, but the radiating smiles on the face of these ‘hoopsters’ gave no indication that they were in anyway inferior to the ‘regular’ basketball players.

That was the biggest factor when the five-day camp under the joint auspices of Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India (WBFI), SATS, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Cognizant was inaugurated by A Dinakar Babu, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of SATS.

The National-level wheelchair basketball technical camp is being coordinated by internationally reputed experts, Maureen Orchard, Norbert Kucera, Toufic Allouche and Maurice Hammerton. Subsequent to the conditioning camp, India will play an international wheel-chair basketball game against Thailand on Sunday.
