Tollywood director Vi Anand inaugurated the seventh edition of ‘Hyderabad Children’s Theatre Festival’ (CTF) in the city over the weekend. Director of Lotus Chocolate, Vandana Pai and Pooja A Maheswari and others were also present at the event, which was organised by Vaishali Bisht, founder of CTF.

Speaking after the inauguration Anand recollected his journey in the entertainment industry. “I was born and bought up in small town Erode in Tamil Nadu. At the age of 14 one of my school teachers introduced me to theatre and asked me to be a part of a skit. I was very uncomfortable with it and I shivered on stage. But, somehow I pulled through and it was a wonderful moment for me to be able to express emotions on stage,” he said.

“This is why I believe that this festival will be good for children because they will be exposed to theatre,” said Anand. Volunteer (Project Masoon), Young India, Pooja added on the importance of theatre, “It’s my childhood dream to do theatre but that time we didn’t get such opportunity.

Returning to my organisaiton and working towards creating awareness towards child sexual abuse with the help of Vaishali and CTF is a good opportunity for me.” Hyderabad Children’s Theater Festival will be at Shilpakala Vedika from December 12 to 14.
