Department of Language and Culture Government of Telangana along with Telangana Theatre Research Centre is organising a three-day (May 18-20) theatre festival \'R Vidyasagar Rao Natakotsavalu\' to pay tributes to R Vidyasagar Rao,  Advisor on Irrigation to the Government of Telangana, at Ravindra Bharathi. 

Department of Language and Culture Government of Telangana along with Telangana Theatre Research Centre is organising a three-day (May 18-20) theatre festival 'R Vidyasagar Rao Natakotsavalu' to pay tributes to R Vidyasagar Rao, Advisor on Irrigation to the Government of Telangana, at Ravindra Bharathi.

As a part of the festival various plays penned by the late R Vidyasagar Rao including 'Devudayya', 'O Office Katha', 'Aapki Adalath', 'Gandhrvule Tirustaru ', ' Pradhanam ', and ‘Goodbye ' are being staged. Minister for Power, G Jagadish Reddy and Minister for Tourism and Culture, Ajmeera Chandulal inaugurated the three-day long event.

The two plays 'Devudayya' and 'O Office Katha' were staged on the inaugural day. The play 'Devudayya' directed by B M Reddy is about a bad man (Devudayya), who puts up an act as a great person. He does many cruel things in his life and manages to put up a good face in front of people. One of his worker 'Yadagiri' comes to know about his atrocities and kills him.

The play explores how bad people in the society are acting as philanthropists. It also shows the two sides of a bad guy. The second play 'O Office Katha' directed by Dheenabandhava revolves around a government official 'Kinkaryam' and working conditions of government officials. The play depicts how government officials waste time and money of people without doing any work. It also explores the many flaws in government sector in a comic way.
