Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is completing 75 years of its existence and celebrating a year-long CSIR-Platinum Jubilee celebration.

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is completing 75 years of its existence and celebrating a year-long CSIR-Platinum Jubilee celebration. As a part of this event IICT, CCMB and NGRI are jointly hosting the CSIR- Mega Science exhibition from till September 6, at the Zaheer Memorial High school grounds, CSIR IICT campus in the city.

The exhibition was inaugurated by G Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri (Defence Minister) and Director General, Missiles and Strategic systems (RCI). Event was presided by guest of honour Dr Janardhan Reddy, IAS, Commissioner GHMC, four CSIR institute Directors Dr S Chandrasekhar IICT, Dr Rakesh K Mishra, CCMB, Dr. V M Tiwari NGRI, and Dr. Muraleedhran Director CGCRI, Kolkata. Visiting Professor Renee Gree from University of Rennes, France was a special guest for the occasion.

The exhibition showcases the achievements of CSIR in the areas of Social Intervention, Nurturing Human Resources, Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship, Biotechnology, Chemical and Petrochemical, Water, Ecology and Environment, Leather, Materials and Minerals, Energy, Health care, Aerospace, Engineering and Infrastructure, Agriculture and Floriculture, and Food and Nutrition.

In his inaugural address Dr Sateesh Reddy expressed happiness as the research findings and their applications, successful technologies are being displayed for public. Dr Janardhan Reddy in his address expressed such events aid in instilling scientific temper among students and public which is essential.

This CSIR- mega Science exhibition is open for students and public for six days concluding on September 6. Employees of three institutes and many students from various schools took part in the event.
