Bowenpally: A one-week training programme for market committee secretaries began at the Bowenpally market yard here on Sunday in which e-services were launched.

Speaking on the occasion, Irrigation minister T Harish Rao said that e-National Agricultural Market (e-NAM), initiative to bring reforms in agricultural marketing was implemented in 44 out of the 58 market yards in the State. The government plans to cover the remaining market yards by 2018.

Bowenpally market yard committee members said that training programme would help in ease of doing business. The e-portal would help secretaries to know about prices and a WhatsApp group has also been formed in which the Irrigation Minister too is a part. The minister said that there are times when he gets an update even at 11pm and action is taken.

The one-week training would cover topics such as trade licence, filing returns, marketing fee et.al.

The minister also apprised the members of the market committee that the capacity of godowns in the state went up from 44 lakh metric tonnes in 2014 to 22 lakh metric tonnes. Rs 1,024 crore has been allotted for the marketing department, informed Harish Rao.
