Tandur: Municipal town planning officer Irshad and his team on Saturday removed stones indicating boundaries of housing plots in the unauthorised lay-outs under survey number three on the outskirts of the town.

The official warned of stern action if anyone was found developing unauthorised lay-outs or ventures or constructing buildings without permissions. Under the survey number three, the state government allotted 12 acres adjacent to the burial ground to the homeless Dalits.

Municipal councilor Aravinda Kumar took pains to bring the unauthorised layouts mushrooming in the area to the notice of the municipal council. Minister Mahender Reddy asked RDO to ensure that the site would not be encroached by vested interests.

Lauding the efforts of the officials in removing the unauthorised lay-out, Aravinda Kumar wanted the site should be allotted to harijans for burial grounds purpose.

For the past two months, he took pains to take the unauthorised notice to the notice of the Collector, RDO, Municipal and revenue authorities.
