The city is reeling under the grip of Dengue, Typhoid and Malaria, which is resulting in increase of malaria and dengue cases in the state-run Fever Hospital. Thousands of people have been visiting the hospital with fever and viral infections during past week.

Speaking to The Hans India, K Shankar, Superintendent, Fever Hospital & Director, Institute of Preventive medicine, Telangana said, 'In last two months, we have witnessed variations in temperature due to climatic changes. More number of malaria and dengue cases are reported in government and private hospitals due to rise in mosquitoes,” he said.

"In last three months, the outpatient number has increased up to 1600 to 2000 and 40% of the reported cases are suffering from viral flu and fever," Shankar said.

"Public should be careful from mosquitoes. Government and GHMC are doing anti-larval operation, Mosquito fogging and using other methods for mosquito menace,” he said.
"In last one month, four to five cases of Dengue have been reported and no mortality has been taken place. We are also treating mosquito cases", Shankar said.

"GHMC should be sensitive about the fast spreading diseases. Government should play proactive role in curbing the unhygienic environment. Rapid disposal of waste on daily basis is needed to reduce mosquito menace and thus reduce the incidence of infectious diseases says," Vinay Kumar.
