Traffic cops get a cool reprieve
With the temperature shooting up in the recent days, the city police began distribution of lemon juice and buttermilk to police personnel manning traffic signals under the hot sun.
Madhapur: With the temperature shooting up in the recent days, the city police began distribution of lemon juice and buttermilk to police personnel manning traffic signals under the hot sun.
Traffic officials are distributing Buttermilk packets in the afternoon hours to the Traffic cops even as the temperature is around 40 degrees in the city. Speaking to The Hans India, a traffic constable who was found distributing buttermilk to fellow traffic cops said: "In this hot summer as usual we are distributing two butter milk packets to each traffic cop who are performing duties on roads and at signals. This is being practiced all over the city to maintain their health and body water levels.
Anil Kumar, Jt. Commissioner, Traffic, Hyderabad city said, to counter the heat wave in addition to this, we are also supplying Glucose-D and water bottles. We are also advising them to take lots of water during the day time so that they don’t get dehydrated.
