Malkajgiri: 16-year-old Metilda from Raja Nagar, who wanted to pursue higher education, has been suffering with Adenopathy disease for the past two years. She isn't able to access treatment as she hails from a poverty-hit family. The family which cannot afford costly treatment remained helpless seeing her getting weaker day by day.

"I want to study further and support my mother in future with earning a respectable job. But, there is no money for the treatment and we need the help from the kind heart donors who can rescue me from this deadly disease," said Metlida.

The poor family with mother Mary Pilemeeya and two children Metilda and 14-year-old Mavena went into poverty after the death of Mary’s husband Martis 12 year ago who was a painter by profession. Since then Mary started working as a maid in different houses to raise her children.

According to the doctor, the patient can be treated with medicines that cost Rs. 4,000 each month. But, unfortunately the mother gets only Rs 3,000 per month that goes to their basic needs to survive. "I just earn a meagre amount and how can I get my daughter treated with medicines costing Rs. 4000. It is a terrible pain I suffer all the time seeing her getting weaker day by day," said the distressed mother.

After The Hans India took the issue to the notice of former army officer, P Satyanarayana, he has taken the responsibility to rescue the life of the poor girl. He said that," I will bear her treatment costs and make sure these two girls receive proper education and become earning members of the family," he said, adding that people should come forward with a kind heart to donate and help the family.
