Minister lays foundation stone for unani dispensary building
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao laid foundation stone for Government Unani Dispensary building opposite to Traffic Police Station on Thursday. The Dispensary building, which will serve in Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Naturopathy and Yoga services, will be constructed with the funds of Rs 15 lakh from NAM (National Ayush Mission Funds).

The Dispensary building, which will serve in Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Naturopathy and Yoga services, will be constructed with the funds of Rs 15 lakh from NAM (National Ayush Mission Funds).
First 50-bed Unani Hospital in the state sanctioned for Siddipet The Irrigation Minister also announced that for the first time in the state and, 50-bed Unani Hospital had been sanctioned for Siddipet town and it will be constructed at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore with 60 per cent from the Central government and the rest is allotted by the state government.
“The proposals had already been sent to the government for the construction of the hospital and Rs 6 crore of the funds have also been released and Rs 3 crore for the construction of the building and Rs 4.5 crore were allotted for the equipment,” said the Minister who enquired on the matter with the government secretary Shanta Kumari over the phone.
He also said there were 16 Unani hospitals in the district which need to work full-fledged by conducting awareness programmes, regular/monthly/ weekly health camps among the public and the 50 bed hospitals was the one being sanctioned for the district.
The Lawmaker, who enquired about the progress of construction of Medical College of 150 seats and Hospital where the classes from August 1, ordered the officials to finish the pending works of hostel for girls and boys, canteen, dining hall, drinking water facility compound wall, toilets and greenery at the institution. MLC Farukh Hussain, Municipal Chairman Rajanarsu, Asst Director Gurumurthy, Regional Director Vasantha Rao, Medical Officer Azaruddin Siddiqui and other officials were also present at the programme.
