7th death anniv of founder of Govt Degree College commemorated
Seventh death anniversary of Edla Guruva Reddy, the founder secretary of Government Degree College of Siddipet, was commemorated at the college on Wednesday. Telangana State Sahitya Academy chairman Nandini Sidha Reddy was chief guest. A bust of the founder of the college was inaugurated and floral tribute was paid to the statue by the chief guest on the premises of the college.

Speaking on the occasion, Sidhareddy said Guruva Reddy was one of the freedom fighters from the area and was the first MLA of the Siddipet constituency. He fought for the establishment of government Degree College at Siddipet and encouraged poor students by donating his pension getting as the freedom fighter, said the Sahitya Acedemy chairman.
Edla Venkat Rama Reddy said the life stories of Guruva Reddy and PV Rajeshra Rao need to be penned and incorporated as syllabus for students and for internet. The program was attended by College principal A Srinivas Reddy, staffers and students. Later, the principal appreciated the students who got better ranks in ICET entrance examination for the admission into MBA and MCA courses.
