The construction of apartments is growing rampantly due to which large number of families reside in small areas. Earlier, in a land area where 10-20 families resided now 100-150 families are staying in apartments.
BN Reddy Nagar: Corporator Muddagouni Lakshmi Prasanna Goud laid foundation for underground drainage (UGD) at Sagar Complex on Friday. The construction of apartments is growing rampantly due to which large number of families reside in small areas. Earlier, in a land area where 10-20 families resided now 100-150 families are staying in apartments.
However, the drainage system is not changed to cater to the increased number of people. This is the main reason for causing drainage overflows. Construction of bigger underground drainage lines have become an immediate necessity. She said that the UGD would benefit 200 families in the complex and instructed the officials to complete the work on war-footing basis.
