GHMC to go into overdrive in fight against plastic

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning a mega drive against plastic. Come July 3, 45,000 Self-help groups (SHGs) and all the DCs, AMOHs, HODs should play a key role in the special drives with reference to elimination of plastic bag which is International Plastic Bag free Day.

While addressing the officials the Commissioner said that there are around 7,500 odd private schools and about 10 lakh students to be involved in the awareness drive. Stopping waste disposal in nalas Another initiative that the GHMC is taking up is stopping the disposal of plastic in water bodies. Various government departments are to participate in the campaign.
