Tandur: The Tandur Depot RTC officials have been collecting double the amount from students instead of the stipulated Rs 30 for issue of bus passes. The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) introduced online system of issuing bus passes to students up to 10th class.

The RTC staff should collect Rs 30 from each student for the purpose of registration and for issue of bus pass. But, they are collecting the double the amount from each student. Over 5,000 students in Peddemul, Basheerabad, Malal under the limits of Tandur depot commute by buses. When The Hans India contacted the Depot Manager Krishna Murthy for clarification, he denied collection of double the amount. He said that the staff collecting the stipulated Rs 30 towards the cost of lamination, online application forms and so on. He denied collecting excess amount from the students.

A student from Kandanelli thanda, J Priyanka of seventh class in the ZPHS in Peddemul, said she gave Rs 60 to the RTC employees for securing the pass as she commutes by bus to the school. Another student of the same school and also a student of class seven, Ankita said that she had given Rs 60 to the officials for the purpose of the free pass.

A class 6 student of ZPHS at Peddemul Siva Kumar who daily commutes by bus to the school from his Indole village said he paid the same amount of the fee like others. Same is the condition of another class six student M Jaswant. The RTC employees are collecting money over and above the stiputed amount from thousands of school students who are dependent on bus to commute to their schools.
