Jharasangam: The Mission Bhagiratha works taken up in the mandal are progressing at a snail’s place. Only 60 per cent of the works are completed. In Kambalapalli village of the mandal, the people are reeling under not only drinking water crisis but also from high fluoride content in ground water.
The people of the village pinned their hopes on the Mission Bhagiradha which seeks to supply drinking water to homes through taps. But, the works have been abandoned in the middle. The officials and elected people’s representatives paid no attention to resuming the works in spite of reminding them of the status by the villagers umpteen number of times. Village sarpanch Marutu Patil and other villages appeal to officials to come to their rescue.
