In order to prevent vector borne diseases like dengue, malaria, chikungunya and mosquito menace in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation GHMC Limits, it is proposed to take up large scale awareness campaign in schools, colleges, and in RWAs, TLFs and SLFs meetings to create awareness among people on mosquito control practices and mosquito borne diseases

Hyderabad: In order to prevent vector borne diseases like dengue, malaria, chikungunya and mosquito menace in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Limits, it is proposed to take up large scale awareness campaign in schools, colleges, and in RWAs, TLFs and SLFs meetings to create awareness among people on mosquito control practices and mosquito borne diseases.

Apart from above IEC activities Mosquito Application has been developed with 17 informative questions on dengue, malaria and mosquito life cycle, breeding habits and source reduction methods and was launched on August 17 last. This is an innovative attempt to familiarize the public with mosquito control and preventive methods.

This Mosquito APP Hyderabad is available on Play Store and can be downloaded easily Amongst participants who answer all questions correctly, lucky draw shall be taken every month for 10 members where Rs.10,000 cash prize shall be given under Corporate Social Responsibility to each lucky draw winner. This programme shall motivate the citizens of Hyderabad to participate in this exercise in large number. So, far 4,03,500 people are downloaded the mosquito app among 2,79,250 people are answered all questions correctly.
