Hyderabad: On Friday, the 24th August, Madhu put on display all of his artworks on roadside near KBR Park taking the walkers by surprise. Holding such exhibition is Madhu’s way of expressing solidarity and empathy.

“The idea of this exhibition clicked me when my wife asked me to do a bit for Kerala. When I couldn’t think of an option, she asked me to sell my artworks and donate the fund to rehabilitation programmes in Kerala”, said Madhu. He also hosted an artwork exhibition few years back for raising funds. “The basic motto of this exhibition is to inspire people to contribute their bit for the flood victims in Kerala”, added Madhu.

He showcased almost 80 paintings majority of which were landscapes. He uses acrylics, oil, water colour paints and charcoal to make out eye-catching canvases from barren ones. The paintings were sold at much lower prices than what they are usually sold at, as the funds will be sent to the Keralites. “I am not demanding that people pay me the MRP, I am happy even if they pay me reasonably well. After all, it’s for charity.

I had a better response from art lovers. If this continues the same way, I shall carry it for the next day too. My friends are supporting me in all arrangements and logistics”, said Madhu. Almost 16 paintings were sold and a sum of Rs 29,270 was collected. There were almost 80 to 100 people gathered around Madhu and his works from 4pm to 8pm. Madhu, at the end of this show, donated a solid amount of Rs 30,000 to Kerala CM’s distress relief fund.
