ED expedites probe into cash-for-bail case

Hyderabad : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday stepped up investigation into the cash-for-bail scam involving mining baron and former Karnataka minister G Janardhana Reddy by filing a petition in ACB Court seeking permission to interrogate one of the accused, P Yadagiri.

The ED sleuths have already grilled Janardhan Reddy's brother G Somasekhara Reddy, Gali's aide TH Suresh Babu and former CBI Special Court judge Pattabhi Rama Rao in connection with the multi-crore scam. Yadagiri was lodged in Cherlapalli jail. Yadagiri was one of the mediators who had brokered the deal with T Pattabhirama Rao for granting bail to Janardhan Reddy on payment of bribe to the extent of Rs 10 crore.
