Hyderabad: The TDP MLAs were in for a shock as the party president N Chandrababu Naidu took them to task for their failure to project TDP as an effective opposition party in the Assembly. Naidu is understood to have pulled up the party MLAs during nearly one-hour-long meeting with them on the eve of his departure to California with his family on Thursday night. According to sources Naidu told his MLAs that this being the election year they should be very active and corner the government on every issue and expose its omissions and commissions but that is not happening. The MLAs are just coming to the Assembly and going away. "If you cannot remain present in the House even for three hours at a stretch what kind of politicians are you," Naidu is said to have remarked. He also told them that if this attitude continues, the repercussions will be very serious. As a leader of the party he said he cannot afford to allow the party to suffer.
