Hyderabad: The Telangana JAC has decided to conduct a slew of programmes from August 16 including relay hunger strike, peace rallies across ten districts besides meeting the Governor to press for expediting the process of formation of Telangana.
T JAC steering committee met here on Tuesday to discuss about tactics being employed by Seemandhra leaders and government staff to obstruct Telangana. Later briefing the media, T JAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram demanded the Union Cabinet to pass a resolution on Telangana at the earliest. According to T JAC chief, CWC decision to carve out Telangana out of Andhra Pradesh was not hasty but taken after majority parties in the State expressed favorable opinion on the issue.
T JAC has resolved to conduct peace rallies at district, mandal and village levels on August 16 and 17, Kodandaram said and appealed to Telangana supporters to participate in large numbers. He further stated that relay hunger strike would be held at Indira Park from August 17. All those organisations and entities that contributed for the success of Sakala Janula Samme (held in September-October, 2011) would be invited for this programme, T JAC chief said.
