Hyderabad: Acknowledging apprehensions of the Seemandhra people, the CPI said that genuine demands should be presented put forthwith in a constructive fashion by political leaders, intellectuals and rights activists from the region, to avert more turbulence.

In a press statement, CPI state secretary K Narayana said the agitation in Seemandhra got momentum due to genuine concerns like water problem to Rayalaseema through Srisailam and to Andhra region, which is already facing problem from neighbouring State. For the students and youth of the region, there is a concern for private jobs rather than losing government jobs after bifurcation.

Besides this, the government failed to address the concerns of those living in the City. It is high time that the Central government should order a high level committee and enact the recommendations to ensure rights of Seemandhra people settled in Hyderabad.
