Hyderabad: A delegation of the APNGOs led by their president Ashok Babu will leave for New Delhi on August 25 as part of their special mission to prevail upon national leaders to save Andhra Pradesh by maintaining status quo in the state. The delegation will meet the Antony committee and other congress bigwigs instrumental for the CWC decision favouring bifurcation. The delegation will camp in the capital from August 26 to 28. Ashok Babu and a few other employees had a meeting with the chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at his camp office on Thursday morning.
But the meeting had nothing to do with the protest of the APNGOs against the bifurcation issue, said the officials. Even the CM did not discuss anything about the ongoing protests and rallies being organised by the employees at the secretariat or elsewhere in the Seemandhra regions. Ashok Babu said that the meeting proposed by the APNGOS at LB Stadium would be organized as scheduled. ‘There is no question of going back’ he asserted. A representation was made to the DGP seeking permission for the meeting. The DCP concerned was also approached on the issue.
