Hyderabad: Ruling Congress received a fresh jolt on Monday as the party MLA from Dharmavaram assembly constituency, Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy switched loyalty to YSR Congress Party and another MLA and former minister, Mopidevi Venkataramana resigned to his MLA post protesting against the bifurcation of State.
Reddy joined the YSRC party in the presence of party honorary president YS Vijayamma, at the latter’s residence here. Reddy was the first time MLA elected from the constituency in Anantapur district. Speaking to newsmen here, he said that Jagan was the only leader in the State who respected the sentiments and feelings of people from all regions and is fighting for their justice in event of State’s division. He will join the agitations launched by the YSR party in the districts against the bifurcation of State.
Venkataramana, who is languishing in Chanchalguda jail in connection with YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case, handed over the resignation letter to jail office and urged them to forward it to Speaker N Manohar for his acceptance. He is currently representing Repalle assembly constituency in Guntur district.
