Navabpet: It is evident that onion became a very important commodity now a day due to its high price. oThe same Onion has become the cause of murder of a farmer. This incident took place at Kadcherla village in Navabpet mandal of Ranga Reddy district. According to the local police, a farmer named Uradi Yellaiah (60) has cultivated his farm with cotton, carrot and brinjal. As usual he went to his farms, after having dinner at about 9 p.m on Wednesday night. He slept near to the onion bag (qty-100kgs) which has been stored as cropping seed and was covered under the grass.

Few unknown persons visited his farms in the midnight and started stealing onion from the gunny bag. Yellaiah tried to restrain them but to no avail. They attacked Yellaiah with a huge stick and hit strongly on his head. Due to a heavy bleeding, the farmer died on the spot. The sacred miscreants left the onion bag and ran away from the spot. On Thursday morning, the incident was revealed to Yellaiah's family members through the neighboring farmers.

According to Ranga Reddy district SP Raja Kumari, the reason of Yellaiah's murder might be the suspected land disputes. She said they remanded four suspected people and started interrogation. But, the family members suspect the thieves as the murderers.
