Hyderabad: After being appointed as vice-chairman of the AP State Council of Higher Education on Wednesday, the vice-chancellor of OU Prof. S. Satyanarayana is in a fix as more eight months left of his three-year tenure as OU VC and he does not want to give up his present post. To take charge of the new post, he has to quit as OU Vice Chancellor. It is evident that Professor Satyanarayana was appointed in July 2011 and is set to retire in July 2014. As the vice-chairman’s post does not have as much significance as the Osmania University VC’s post, Prof. Satyanaryana is in a hidden tussle.
The state government issued orders on Wednesday appointing prof Satyanaryana as one of the two vice-chairmen of APSCHE along with Prof. P. Vijaya Prakash. While Prof Prakash took charge immediately, it is known that there has been no communication from Prof. Satyanarayana about assuming the charge of vice-chairmen of APSCHE.
