The AOC Centre, Secunderabad, conducted a cycling and parasailing expedition from Tanot, Rajasthan, to Secunderabad. Twenty cyclists comprising two officers, one JCO and 17 other ranks underwent rigorous training in long distance cycling. The expedition was flagged off from Tanot on February 7 and covered a distance of 2,240 km in 15 days.

The AOC Centre, Secunderabad, conducted a cycling and parasailing expedition from Tanot, Rajasthan, to Secunderabad. Twenty cyclists comprising two officers, one JCO and 17 other ranks underwent rigorous training in long distance cycling. The expedition was flagged off from Tanot on February 7 and covered a distance of 2,240 km in 15 days.

The expedition, led by Colonel Deven Bharadwaj, returned to Secunderabad on Friday having crossed five states. It was the longest cycling expedition of the southern command. The expedition crossed places like Jaisalmer, Barmer, Tharad, Chitrod, Dharangdhara, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Kamrej (Surat), Talasari, Mumbai, Pune, Indapur, Solapur, Homnabad and reached AOC Centre, Secunderabad.

The team which was part of the expedition arrived in the city on Saturday

The team covered a remarkable distance of 196 km in less than 12 hours. As part of the expedition, the team conducted parasailing at various places like Barmer, Dharangdhara, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Pune for NCC Cadets and school children to generate interest in the sport.
