Hyderabad: Three persons were killed and another injured seriously when their speeding car hit a road median before colliding with oncoming DCM van on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) on Friday morning.According to the police, Ravi Teja, Surya Teja, Rohith and Kiran were travelling from Gachibowli to Khammam when their over-speeding car hit the median on the ORR near Thukkuguda and then collided with an DCM van coming from the opposite direction.

The impact of collision was so huge that the car overturned and completely damaged. Two of them – Ravi and Surya - died on the spot while Rohith and Kiran were shifted to Care Hospital at Nampally, where Rohith succumbed to his injuries and Kiran has been battling for life, according to the police said.

While Kiran is an engineering student, the rest of the three who were killed in the accident were graduates from IIT, Kharagpur. They were working in an IT firm in Hyderabad, the police said, adding that the victims were aged between 25 and 30.This is the second major road accident due to over speeding on Friday.

Earlier in the day, five people were killed when a speeding car collided with a parked truck near Nandigama in Ranga Reddy district on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru highway.The car was travelling from Hyderabad to Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh. The car was so badly mangled due to the collision that rescue workers had a tough time retrieving the bodies.The victims were identified as Somanna, Narsamma, Giddamma, Somesh – all the four from the same family and the car driver Mallesh was from Gudur village in Chevella mandal of Ranga Reddy district, the police said.
