From a distance, surface of mountains look smooth – thus goes an old Indian saying. And correctly, from the other side of globe, US of A looks a civilised, democratic country. It might have remained so and attracted many an intellectuals onto its shores to contribute and strengthen the already robust nation, unless in this age of information technology, news flies faster than supersonic jets and was broken around the globe.
Donald Trump, came almost out of blue and became the most debated candidate, worldwide. The fact that Vladimir Putin, who always liked to put the POTUS in a tight spot was praising Trump, was a sort of diplomatic coup for Trump, which he had not even initiated in all probability.
Why Putin is supporting Trump – the right winger? As such, Russia had nothing to gain whether republicans run the government in America or the democrats. Still, he chose to praise Trump, and declare him as the clear leader in the run up to become the next president. For one, he was already sort of darling to American masses, from the way he acted tough, while America’s use of force was laced with lots of diplomacy. Next, unlike Americans, Russians may have to face the increasing immigration of Syrians – whoever live after the current situation.
What Trump did that was not characteristic of any of the US Presidents? Normally the President speaks strongly only after some major trouble had occurred. Else, they talk sweetly but push with iron fists with no gloves. And here is the guy, who probably may become the President, but even talking hard. Whatever he talks about how much time Hillary Clinton spent in bath room was simply nonsense – and it is going to remain, despite the onslaught from the liberals and feminists. From Trump’s point of view, he was providing much cheer to his biased audience.
It is his proposal to ban Muslims into America – that was showing the other, but true side of Americanism. He spoke something that was normally restricted to drawing room discussions. He in fact, had spoken the actual opinion of the majority of Americans, who pretend to present a liberal and inclusive face to the world. Considering the fact that it was only due to America’s continuous undeclared and declared wars that most of Islamic countries have been pushed (of course, they also have their own dictators and imams to blame) into medieval times. Yet, never any American from the higher echelons of the government had blamed the religion – so openly. Even today, America is the best friend of Saudi Royalty, who are a considerable force in the Islamic Republics and contributed to both sides of terrorism, with equal vigour.
Putin, for one thing has to deal with Obama for the next one year. And, whatever Trump or Clinton thinks is not going to change anything on the ground. What matters is how Obama responds to the mounting pressure from the ISIS and increasing terrorist attacks. Obama and his team are still busy playing the role of supporters of democracy, by supporting the opposition to Assad, while Russia had simply sided with Assad and bombed all opposition – including those supported by America.
On the international arena, Russia appears as the only country that was not getting involved into the affairs of Syria – another sovereign nation. All claims by NATO about Assad and the purported civil rights violations do flay shabbily when compared with their past record. All NATO could achieve and installed was anarchy, after overthrowing the Soviet supported Government in Afghanistan and killing Saddam in Iraq. Same case with Egypt and Libya, where almost stable governments were overthrown in the name of ‘uprising’. Making nations to live on external support may not necessarily withstand the exact definition of releasing them from the clutches of terror – by the dictator. And in all cases, while America was busy in making dictators vanish, Caliphate was filling the vacuum created.
As Russia shares borders with many an Islamic republics and is very much closer to these countries than America, Putin was simply ensuring to arm twist Obama led NATO, if not to facilitate attacking all rebels, not to make hindrances in his attempts of cleaning the place. Of course, it is purely incidental that it happens to be Trump, who received praise, for talking what exactly was in Putin’s mind.
