15 years old Muhammad Saqib belongs to Karachi, the teenager cleared one of the most esteemed tests in the world of technology, i.e. Solutions architect- Associate level test by AWS ( Amazon Web Services) and bagged the title for being the youngest in the world and first Pakistani to do so.
Here we would like to tell what Amazon Web Services actually are. AWS is a comprehensive, evolving cloud computing platform provided by world renowned online store Amazon.com.
To minimize the impact of outages and ensure the strength of the system, AWS is geographically diversified into regions. These regions have central hubs in the Eastern USA, Western USA (two locations), Brazil, Ireland, Singapore, Japan, and Australia.
Saqib told More Magazine about his success and the passion behind it. He said that his father brought a computer for him when he was merely 2 years old. As the time passed he started developing an interest in technology and by the age of 5 he could manage to break all the passwords his elder brother would put on the computer.
Saqib says, “I somehow managed to get through them and bypass all the security measures applied by him. My Family started praising me in front of relatives and friends which motivated me to do something big in the field of technology. Then My Father enrolled me in the Basic Networking Course on my Brother’s Recommendations. I gained so much from that in the field of Networking and was encouraged to gain Advanced Networking skills.”
When the teenager was 10 years old, he got enrolled in CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
“Unfortunately I was not allowed to sit in CCNA exam due to age limits. I was quite disappointed. Maybe it was in my fate and then moved to programming field. Where i got a chance to learn major Web Development Languages which includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, and MySQL Database.” he said.
This was not the limit, he did some freelancing projects for web development, later on his instructor Nadeem Akhter suggested him to Clouddall CEO Adnan Ahmed.
Luckily Saqib was appointed as a Technology Expert (R&D) in Clouddall Inc. Then the new journey started and the Clouddall CEO provided him with all the training material required to pass the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Certification.
Saqib’s boss believed in him and kept on motivating him to do something bigger which children of his age do not do. That is the reason Saqib did very well in the test and scored 90% marks in the exam.
Passed this Certification at the age of 14 and worked on many projects such as Hosted Desktops Solutions (Access Your Desktop From anywhere) with Single Sign in, Infrastructure Migration to the cloud, Nested Virtualization on the cloud.
The young IT boy says that Pakistan is still far behind in cloud based technology. The only time Pakistan government utilized Amazon Web Services was for 3G/4G Licenses auction back in 2014. Unfortunately, The environment for auction was deployed by a foreign company Cloudtech Inc which made a lot of profit. Same thing would have been done by Pakistanis in much lesser cost.
“The AWS Certified people of Pakistan are either working for foreign companies or are working individually for testing their developed applications/projects which requires high-end computing environment.
I hope to see Pakistan compete with other developed countries in Technology, this will raise Pakistan’s economy as well as create employment opportunities” Saqib hoped.
Indeed Pakistani youth has much talent and all they need is a platform. Saqib got the support and platform to do this task and many other children who are bright and intelligent may also get to this place.
