venkaiahKarimnagar: National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coming to power at the Centre is vital to bring back the lost glory of the country, said senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu. He was the chief guest at the Praja Chaitanya Sadassu (awareness meeting) organised by the BJP to the party cadres of Karimnagar and Peddapalli partliamentary constituencies. The meeting was held at Ambedkar Stadium in the town on Tuesday. ``The country has been facing several problems on account of corruption, diminishing economic condition, acute poverty, terrorism, extremism, unemployment and other multi-faceted challenges during the inefficient rule by the UPA Government at the Centre,'' he said. The Economic liberalisation policies were introduced by the then Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao and Dr Manmohan Singh was the Union Finance Minister then. And the NDA Government which came to power at the Centre tried its best to implement these policies. However, after the 2004 General Elections, the UPA Government at the Centre ignored to implement the liberalised economic policies. The nation was pushed to an economic crisis due to faulty policies adopted by the UPA Government headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and other Union Ministers, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu stated. Many of the Union Ministers in the present UPA Government, leaving the problems of the people to winds, have been languishing in jails as they were involved in various scams. The leaders are also facing other serious charges. The UPA Government has totally failed to solve the important problems faced by the country, he said. He further said that the State Government had allocated inadequate funds to agriculture sector in the budget for 2013-14. Farmers in AP have been facing more problems when compared to those in other states. The Governments in other states had allocated sufficient funds to agriculture in their annual budgets, he said. NDA, if it comes to power at the Centre, would take all steps to root out corruption. He exuded confidence that BJP would win the General Elections in 2014. Formation of a separate Telangana State would be possible only through BJP. It would not be possible for regional parties to carve out separate states. In the past, three states were formed during BJP rule at the Centre, Naidu said. BJP national secretary K Laxman, former Union Minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao, party leaders of state and district levels participated in the meeting. The leaders urged the party cadres of Karimnagar and Peddapalli parliamentary constituencies to strive for the victory of BJP candidates in the forthcoming polls.
