Karimnagar: District Collector M Veera Brahmaiah has directed the municipal commissioners to visit wards in their municipalities as part of `Ward Sandarshana’ programme from next Thursday. Addressing a review meeting here on Sunday, the Collector said that on the lines of `Grama Darshana,’ the civic chiefs have to visit the wards on Thursdays and try to solve the problems of the residents.

The special officer, municipal commissioner and ward members (councillors) have to participate in the weekly programme to receive grievances from the public, he said. He instructed that the team members have to inspect the wards at about 5.00 am to know whether residents are getting drinking water or not. They should also try to solve sanitation and other problems, he said. They have to conduct a rally to bring awareness among the people about the need to maintain hygienic conditions. Students, members of Swasakthi Groups, Anganwadi members and teachers can participate in the rally, the Collector added.
