Nalgonda: Women devotees thronged the temples and performed poojas on the auspicious day of Nagula Chavithi on Thursday. The temples in the district were decked up for Nagula Chavithi and special poojas were performed to the presiding deities.

Right from early morning, women made a beeline to the Yellamma temple on Panagal road and offered milk to the snakes. They also performed Ksheerabhishekam to the idol of Goddess Nagamma on the temple premises. Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple at VT Colony also posed a similar picture with women performing poojas.

Similarly, the Renuka Yellamma temple at Darveshipuram village also witnessed heavy rush of devotees. The women had to wait for more than an hour to perform pooja to the idol of Nagamma, which was installed in front of Renuka Yellamma temple. In Miryalaguda town, the devotees offered eggs and milk to the snake pit which was located on the premises of Sri Hanuman Temple at Thallagadda.
