Bhongir: The BJP State president Dr K Laxman has urged the State government to immediately waive Rs 8,000 crore crop loans.Addressing the farmers at the BJP Maha Dharna programme at the District Collectorate on farmers’ issues, Dr Laxman alleged that the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, was not bothered about the issues being faced by farmers.

He charged the State government with lack of commitment on welfare of farmers and pointed that the farmers have been facing hardships in getting crop loans from the banks due to non-payment of the loans by the State government. “The waiver of crop loans by the government in a phased manner to the banks will not be of any use,” Laxman felt.

Coming down heavily on the State government, Dr Laxman said the TRS government has disappointed the unemployed, who dreamt of jobs once the separate State was realised. He dared theCM to make public the details of number of jobs given to the youth after TRS came to power.

He has also alleged that the TRS government utterly failed to fulfill its promise of completing all the pending projects in the State. Stating that the Centre was also extending funds for double bedrooms scheme, he urged the State government to take up construction of double bedroom houses immediately.

BJP State Secretary Kasam Venkateshwarlu alleged that the State government was insensitive on the rehabilitation of the people of six villages, which would be submerged due to Baswapuram Project.

Reminding that tribals of submerged thands of Nagarjunasagar Project setup their hamlets in Rajapet mandal as per the directions of the officials, he pointed out that the State government was showing the areas of these hamlets as government lands and conspiring to vacate them.

He demanded the government to issue land pattas to these tribals. BJP district president Sankineni Kenkateshwar Rao and others participated in the dharna programme.
